HTML, CSS and JavaScript

New idea

A page arrives as plain text

The server answered your GET with 200 OK. But what it sent is not a picture of a page. It is plain text, like <h1>Hello</h1>. So how does text become colours, buttons and animations?

The browser reads three languages, each with its own job. HTML (HyperText Markup Language) says what is on the page: headings, paragraphs, images, buttons. CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) says how it looks: colours, fonts, sizes, where things sit. JavaScript (JS) says what it does: what happens when you click, type or scroll.

Think of a body. HTML is the skeleton, the shape everything hangs on. CSS is the skin and clothes. JavaScript is the muscles that make it move.
