Logic gates

New idea

A door that makes decisions

A vault door opens only if you have the key and you type the right code. Key but no code? It stays shut. Code but no key? Still shut.

Turn each condition into a bit: have it = 1, missing = 0. The door gives one bit back: open = 1, shut = 0.

That rule is a logic gate called AND. It takes bits in and gives one bit out, which is 1 only if both inputs are 1. Gates are built from the same tiny switches you already met, wired together.
